Hello,

i'm drawing a new pakage device.

I've got a problem with selection tool. I try to use group or show icons but clicking on an object it's doesn't highlight.

It work only if i click on origin point, but not always i see it.

I solve the problem to highlight an object, with mouse button clicked, selecting an area.

This become a problem if i've got more objects nearly.

Thank you

This sounds like another case where the "Group Command Default On" option isn't helping you. This is something myself and most seasoned EAGLE users have turned off because we feel it doesn't work as well as the earlier behaviour.

Go to Options->Set...->Misc, and uncheck the "Group Command Default On" checkbox and then click OK. Are things more as you would expect now? I certainly don't have issues selecting individual items or groups of items with this setting turned off.

If you want to create an irregular group to select a number of things you can choose GROUP mode and then click multiple points to create the irregular shape. Then, once you have your group defined, say you want to move it, you select MOVE mode and then Ctrl+Right Click will initiate a group move operation.

Best Regards,

Rachael

Thank you Rachael,

i try to do what you advise me.

The situation is the same, i can highlight an object only if i click specific pointds, particularly if i click on origin poin.

This could be acceptable if origin point will be more visible when i put mouse pointer on the object, in evry position.

I'd like that when i put mouse pointer over an object i can select it.

Thank you

Ok can you describe exactly what you are trying to do? Maybe it's a case of you expecting it to work in a certain way but actually it's done a different way. Maybe can you record a screencast showing what you are trying to do so we can see your difficulties?

Hi Silvio,

I'm glad the latest version (I presume you mean 8.6.1?) has improved things for you. What version were you using previously? I had assumed you were using a recent version (8.5.x or 8.6.x) but maybe that was not correct.

Best Regards,

Rachael
