Problem with CAM file from Sparkfun

I am a new Eagle user. Just finished my first board. Very simple board.  Using the cam file from Sparkfun. Followed directions from book Make your own PCB from Simon Monk and also from Sparkfun.  Before I get anywhere in the cam processor I get two warning yellow triangles with black !point  (indicates error) one on is Gerber the other on Drill.

Using Eagle 9.6.2 and cam file SFE.GERB.274x,

UPDATE :error 1  Copper layer 1 specified in layer stack not referenced by Gerber output item.

Error 2 Drill spec does not include board stackup spec in DRC layers.

Any thoughts?

Seems like this a bigger problem than I thought. Been working on this for 2 days straight. Can someone reccomend another CAD program with an easier to use Gerber producer?

Thanks!

Have you tried using the default settings? I've never had any trouble generating Gerbers from Eagle (although I have stuck with V7 for license reasons and the V9 CAM processor is a bit different). Your problems appear to be with Sparkfun's file rather than Eagle, so try the native defaults first to confirm that.

Are you able to upload any screenshots?  I regularly export files into FlatCAM from Eagle for making prototype boards without any errors being raised.

In the long run I used a file built-into Eagle. If you select the Seeed Fusion file from the pull down menu under third party. It worked effortlessly. Just sent the Gerbers off and PC house checked and accepted them.  Displayed a Copy of my board looks perfect. Thanks
