Part Attribute Shows in Schematic, not Board View [Layers ON]

I'm trying to populate a 'Version' attribute value on both the schematic view and board view from a part library. I have everything spelled correctly and on correct layers (that are ON), but still no dice. Can someone help point me in the right direction?

in the board view, click "attribute" then click on the part that is not displaying the attribute.

Is the missing attribute listed here or not?

If it is not shown here then the part may not be setup properly/you can solve it in the library editor.

 

If it is shown in the window that opens though then click on it an then click change. Look at "display". Is it set to off? in this case switch it to "value". Then the value of that attribute will be displayed.

I am able to do that. However they cluster up at the origin point and not the text fields I made in the footprint editor.I moved them from the actual origin point due to some other graphics being in the way. ok so now do this 1 last step.

 

click on the icon "reposition attributes"

Now click on the part in question 1 last time, it should move the now displayed attributes to the position specified in the footprint of the library. 

 

I'm not sure why it works like this but hopefully it helps.

Unfortunately, that did not work as expected. They text moved to the left of the part origin and stayed the same font. I'm attaching a screen shot of how I have the text field set up in the footprint editor. Let me know if I've made an egregious error setting it up in the first place.

@mtl_asm I would like to say thank you for your assistance thus far. I've been working in Eagle for 3 years now and I had no idea that tool existed!

Small update: I right clicked on the part in the board design view for a design that's using the part, and selected "Restore Position" after populating the values of the attributes [left Display OFF]. Lo' and behold, the text fields enumerated correctly and display the values.

 

I have NO idea if this is an intended function but it's a small work around for now. I would rather not have this be the official process for other engineers who may use my library. But for now I'll make a readme note.
