Currently it seems like you need to just browse through the list of components in your search results and hopefully find one that has the little 3D icon next to it. This is particularly annoying since it requires un-collapsing each of the folders to see the components inside. We need a checkbox (like the Pads and Smds and Description checkboxes) to show only components with 3D data.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for posting. Right now only a very limited subset of EAGLE's default libraries have 3D models mapped to them. The endgame is they will all have 3D models mapped to them in relatively short order. If they all have 3D models then the checkbox becomes less necessary.

However, because libraries can come from many different sources some filtering is likely worthwhile. I'll talk to our devs about it, but I believe something like this is in the works already.

Best Regards,

I get that it won't be a problem when most of the components have 3D data, but I suspect a goal of yours is to get users to embrace the feature as it is today so it can be successful in the future. It'll be hard to do that if we don't have a way to actually use this great feature without jumping through hoops. A 3D checkbox would make it easy to try and design around the components that currently have 3D data. That's obviously not a realistic workflow for users in the long term, but during the beta/rollout it seems crucial for people to actually be able to *use* the components that have 3D data. Also, even when Autodesk has added 3D models for most of the components that come with Eagle, we will always have our own libraries, user-contributed libraries, libraries from manufacturers, etc - and they will probably be a mixed bag of components that have 3D models and those that don't.
