Currently storage is in User-dir from windows on C: which i would like to change, i have a separated drive for user data.

I can

  • close Eagle
  • copy all data to let's say D:\Eagle
  • reopen eagle and set all directories under options - directories to the new path.

I guess that would work?

Is there somewhere a more generic way to set one directory to hold all userdata... and when changing that the data would automatically moved to the new position?

Hello @edward_ebay ,

I hope you're doing well. The method you have described is the way we recommend to solve this issue, there is no simpler or more generic way than what you described.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Did as described... everything seemed to be perfect.

But right now, after a removal and new installation for eagle, and then changing folders to correct new directory.... all libraries are visible except the one from the managed folder on library.io.

In library.io i did find the correct library in the trash, did restore.

Now it is in the library list on library.io together with 2 others... but not visible or usable on the desktop app.

So what did i do wrong here ?

Another observation: When i change a lib to a managed lib, then it automatically stores a copy in archive. This archive still is under %HOME%/EAGLE... and that folder cannot be changed ?

Hi @edward_ebay,

I hope you're doing well. When it comes to managed libraries they are not automatically downloaded when you install EAGLE(imagine a scenario where you have 1000 managed libraries). So you have to go into the library manager > available tab and you'll see your managed libraries there. You can enable and download them there.

The archive folder is just a safe backup, the idea is that you don't use the libraries from there. That's why the path isn't changeable.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

There it is... i did not find them in the manager at the first trial. Maybe somehow mixed up as they were in the trash folder.

Whatever... the only thing i can do is to switch to "In Use", right? I do not see a download function...
