Making a generate cam file into your default cam when doing a job.

This might have a simple solution for it but I have search through the Eagle's options and briefly looked online on the subject but have yet been successful. I am trying to make a cam file my default cam for when I click on the cam processor button it automatically loads that file rather than the template file. I have to constantly navigate to where I keep my cam file for each job I wish to submit and it's getting a bit frustrating.

Hi @Anonymous,

Unfortunately, this is currently not possible although it is on the wish list. Thanks for bumping the suggestion up again.

We are currently in the middle of a lot of big things so smaller features like this have been overlooked for the time being. I'll ping the developers to see if this is easy to do and can maybe be done in between the big stuff that's being worked on.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

The default template CAM Job files are integral to the CAM Processor, as the system uses them to ensure continuous and reliable availability of CAM data.  For the time being we have decided to protect those files from being edited, rather than risk a scenario where they become inadvertently deleted or corrupted.

I hope you realize that the Eagle Control Panel's Options -> Directories -> CAM Jobs provides quick access to CAM job files, as the CAM Processor uses those settings for its Load CAM file -> Local CAM Jobs list.  While I admit this is not a perfect solution to your request, perhaps this can relieve you from continually navigating the File Open dialog to locate and open your CAM Job files.

The best on that case it's to go to "Recent Cam Jobs", in the same dialog window, as you could see on my screenshot:
