Layer opacity

Hello there,

I am swapping from Altium Designer to Eagle. I am looking for the option to change the layer opacity. At the moment the layers are a bit transparrent and the underlying layers colors blend in making new colors, like pink...

How can make those layers be 100% opaque? I would appreciate all help!

Hello,

It looks like you have alpha blending turned off which is why you are getting the pinks.

Options -> Set....

Then tick the 'Use Alpha Blending' option and it'll look a lot nicer.

You can then also manually create your own palette, look in help for the the SET command under the colours section. It tells you how to set colours with:

SET PALETTE index argb

where the a of argb is the alpha so you can set the opacity with that. You can create a script file to define your own colour palette which you can run to configure it how you like more easily.

Best Regards,

Rachael

Hi there, thanks for answer.

I do have alpha blending turned on:

So basically I need to write a script in order to change colors? There is no way of clicking this out?

Hi @Anonymous,

I hope you're doing well. I think Rachael meant to turn Alpha blending off, if you turn it off then you don't get the color mixing.

Try that and let me know if you continue to run into problems.

Hi Jorge,

I meant turn it on, it gives pinks which are not good for a clear layout with it turned off as shown in the two pics the OP has posted.

Hi bremenpl,

There is a script called defaultcolours.scr in the EAGLE-x.x.x/scr/ folder. Copy that to defaultcolours-noblending.scr and then change all the alpha values to FF and I think it should do what you want when you run that script.

Best Regards,

Rachael

The alpha channel is the first octet as the format is:

SET PALETTE index argb
