How to net to a pin label

Hi,

I'm quite new to Eagle and I don't understand how to do what a tutorial is showing me.

I'm attempting the Hack A Day tutorial which is ok but kind of skips steps. Hack A Day tutorial

How is author connecting things like JP2:

Author doesn't draw a net across the schematic from JP2 pin 4 to NRES; it just has an NRES label on it. How do I do that?

Thanks in advance for any help, sorry I don't know what anything is called, I've just started on Eagle.

And if you have a better tutorial I'm all ears.

Hi @Anonymous,

I hope you're doing well. In EAGLE all connections are defined by net name, so you can draw two net stubs on opposite ends of the schematic; as long as they have the same name they are connected.

What you have to do after you draw the stubs (short segments using the NET command) is click on the NAME command and give each stub the exact same name. At this point you won't see the labels like you have in the picture below, if you want to place the labels click on the LABEL command and then click on the net stub you'll see the label hanging on your mouse cursor and now you can left click to place it.

Just to be clear, you don't have to place the label to make this work. The label just makes things easier to understand when reading the schematic.

As far as tutorials go, I encourage you to check out our First Flight videos here.

Please accept as solution if my post fully resolves or you issue, or reply with additional details if the problem persists.

Let me know if there's anything else i can do for you.
