How to add .lbr library file?

How do I add a library to Eagle?

I tried copying the .lbr file to the lbr directory, then tried Library/Open and got this error:

"Loading C:/EAGLE-7.5.0/lbr/adafruit.lbr ...

Error:

line 8, column 16: This is not an EAGLE file."

I tried Library/Use but no change occurred.

Hello!

I've been finding some compatibility issues in libraries between eagle 7(version you're using) and eagle 8(current version). But usually the kind of messages that I get are more parameter errors than simply not recognising the library.

Could you please upload the file to check it out?

Hi @Anonymous,

I hope you're doing well. If you got it straight from github, then you may have just downloaded the link. It's very important to download the entire repository, you can't just right click on one of the libraries and save it.

If this is is not what happened, then like rqn1.alu.ua.es says upload it and we can review.
