How do I export just the board outline to preserve scale/dimensions?

I recently updated Eagle (free version) to the latest release. I was using Eagle 5.x.x before.

To print a copy of the PCB ready to use as a mask for UV exposure, I used to export the PCB image to a document, then resize it to the dimensions I had set the board outline to in Eagle.

With the newer version of Eagle, when I export the image, it produces an image of the board, it's outline, plus some seemingly random extra space around the board which does not appear to be related to the PCB at all.

I can still resize the board to very close to actual size by measuring the resulting size and calculating a scale adjustment multiplier to use, but this is a major imposition compared to how easy it used to be!

How do I export just the board image within the outline to preserve scale/dimensions?

Hello @Anonymous,

I hope you're doing well. The best I can recommend here is to zoom in so that what you want exported is in the window view. You can do a Window fit operation and see if that gives you the view you want. Another thing you may want to check is to turn on all your layers, you may have objects on inactive layers which are affecting the view.

There are many ways to do this, you may want to try the pdf print functionality. The Printer allows you to specify the scale of the output so even if you have some white space it won't matter. Something worth checking.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hello @Anonymous

Thank you for the reply.

An object on a layer I am not viewing seems to be the most likely answer.

I will check into it and respond.
