Group Unlock

Hello, I have a PCB that I am working on that has some fairly complex mechanical aspects which I have added in reference layers to help guide placement and routing constraints.

The problem lies in that I have locked all of these reference lines (there are a lot since it was imported from .dxf) and there have been a few mechanical changes which requires modification of some of these locked reference markings. I have been unable to find a way to group unlock these markings and the amount of them make it highly time consuming to right click and unlock each line individually.

I am surprised a group unlock feature is not visible considering pretty much every other command can be grouped and executed. Am I missing something???

Thanks!

Hello @sphillipsT3N7F,

I hope you're doing well. There is a way to perform a group unlock but I know the GUI doesn't make it super obvious. Here's the procedure:

1) Form the group
2) Click on the Lock Icon
3) Hold ctrl+shift and then right-click somewhere within the group.

You can see the full documentation by typing HELP LOCK followed by enter in the EAGLE command line.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

With the new lock features there are still a couple issues with the group operations. This may not affect you, but group lock/unlock does not work on polygons.
Also if you copy anything locked into a library you have to unlock each one manually as the lock command is not supported in libraries.

Hi

The unlock group described procedure seems to not work in Eagle 9.5.1. Any tricks to do it?

Best regards

Sorry,

CTRL+SHIFT+ RIGHT CLICK is working, but it needs to deselect first the polygone edge types, if all the types are selected it is not working.

Another issue is that the vias are not unblocked.

Best regards

Hello @ravaMYRKD,

I hope you're doing well. Whenever you are going to unlock a group that contains many different types of objects it best to make sure the selection filter includes all of those types otherwise when you form the selection they won't be included. I suspect that's what happened with your via situation.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
