GROUP select in FUSION360 sometimes not works at first try.

Hi

GROUP select in FUSION360 sometimes not works at first try. I see a behaviour I am not used to from earlier days in EAGLE. Now in FUSION360 electronics schematic editor sometimes or better most of trying to use the GROUP command, either normal or polygon I see that the grouping did not work and I need to use the GROUP command a second or theird time until it captures the group. I that known? Can I do something to get rid of this?

Regards, harald

Hi @HarrySatt ,

Could you record a screencast showing this behavior as far as I know there's no such issue. One thing to keep in mind, whenever you form the group, in order for the select to work, you must click on a member of the group. You can't click just in empty space.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

I mean the rectangle I draw to form the group. sometimes the contents (inside the rectangle ) is not activated, Not highlightend. If I use polygone grouping the highlight is shortly shown but sometimes vanishes immediatly.

But that behaviour is really seldom, so screenrecording is nearly impossible.

I think you keep this in mind and I forget it for the first.

thank you for fast response.

Regards, Harald

I can reproduce this behaviour to 100% with the following sequence in the schematic editor.

First I use the "move" command to move for example a resistor by using left click. After moving the resistor to a new location, I left click again to locate it at the position.

Then I use "Select" "Group with polygon" from the menu.

After drawing the selection poygone arround some items using left clicks, I use right click to close the polygone.

Voila, the group selection is empty.

When I try the same selection starting with "Select" "Group with polygon"  again. The group selection succeedes.

I can see a similar behaviour also in the board editor.

Because I use this selection very frequently, it is disturbing the workflow a lot.

Definitely the issue I mean. The same I also encounter with standard GROUP command. Makes the workflow a bit crumpy. Sometimes you see that the command does not catch the objects inside the polygon or rectangle.

Hi @HarrySatt  @ugLB8P8

For this issue, you can try to Press ESC after Move, then do Group Select.

Before the fix for this issue, you can use the workaround.

Please have a try, thanks!

Today we release Fusion 360 V2.0.10244 and the group issue should be fixed in it.
