[error report ]Generate CAM data crashes EAGLE

Hello everybody,

I just updated to the 8.6 version of eagle, and I was trying around the new features like the [FACTORY] button, which indeed crashes EAGLE. I also tried with the old [CAMERA] button to generate CAM, but by the end of the process, also crashes.

I'm running WINDOWS 10 over a DELL XPS 13 P54G

To solve it for now, I'll just move to the previous version to process my files, but I'll be glad to provide feedback if necessary to find where is the issue, also to get to know when the solution is ready.

I hope you're having a good day, thank you for visiting our forums! If possible please provide a screencast showing you reproducing the issue. If you use the CAM processor does EAGLE crash?

Are you using any layers in the 53-100 range in your board design?

Can you provide any more information that would allow us to reproduce this issue?

Does EAGLE also crash if you open the CAM dialog from the control panel (double click on a CAM file).

Does the manufacturing preview work correctly?

Does it crash if you type MANUFACTURING CAM; in the command line?
Does it crash if you type MANUFACTURING EXPORT; in the command line?

A crash report or a screen recording might also help us a lot!

I just figured out something. It seems to crash only when the option of saving everything to a zip file that means:

- Generate CAM data CRASHES

- CAM Processor with "to ZIP file option" CRASHES

- CAM Processor without zipping DOES NOT CRASH

I hope you're doing well. Where are you trying to create the zip file to? Are there any file permission issues you might be able to think of?

It seems odd that it would crash with the zip.

Just at the Desktop folder, so it shouldn't have any kind of problem.

I even tried avoiding any space in the folder path, and reducing the name of the path to something short.

Nothing worked out...

I hope you're doing well. Could you try a different file and see if the same thing happens? Use one of EAGLE's default example boards like hexapod. If it doesn't crash that might imply that there's something special in your file and if that's the case we would like to have a look.

Let's try something different. Go ahead and close eagle, then browse to C:\Users\yourUserNamehere\AppData\Roaming\CadSoft\EAGLE. Delete the eaglerc file that is there. Now start EAGLE and try again. Does it still crash?

If it does, please get a crash report and post it here. You can follow the procedure from this website to get the crash report.
