I have a login problem with eagle. I have an education license, but recently this changed to free, which I believe it does periodically to force you back online to reaffirm the license. When I select to go online, I have to sign in. After putting in my email it takes me to my institutes login window. They use a 2FA vip login, and after doing that it just circles back to the login page. It is not clear if this an Autodesk problem or at the University side, but neither side seems to be able to solve the problem. I spent two hours with University IT people (although admittedly they were mostly searching this forum I think) and about the same online with a chat agent last night (whom I think was doing the same).
There are "solutions" elsewhere that suggest to delete a file "subscritions.*". When this is deleted, Eagle restarts with the splash gone with restricted menus: Eagle (with no meaningful submenus), Options->proxy settings, View->reload, and a sign in page (which goes through the same loop describe above). Selecting reload just changes the colors on the sign in page (presumably some users want that feature).
The restart recreates an empty subscription.* file. I suspect this would be written to if the login worked. At one point the chat agent directed me to
I have no idea where to find these variables and neither did the chat agent. The link (https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-set-an-Envi...) to how to manually set them did not lead to anything of value either. Those environment variables don't appear when using printenv or env in a terminal window (I am on a mac), even if I create them as given in the instructions.
This now affects my work desktop, laptop, and home desktop, and colleagues computer (all macs). On my work desktop, I can't even see the splash to see the files I have created or work on libraries.
If there is a solution to this, very explicit instructions would be appreciate. It should not be assumed I have in-depth computer expertise.
However, I did not know how to find
