EAGLE EOL on June 7, 2026 and the retirement of the EAGLE forums

Greetings to all EAGLE users,

It's been quite the journey, I joined the Cadsoft team in late 2010-early 2011(I don't remember exactly). At that time Cadsoft had recently been acquired by Newark,  we were on the 5.11 release of EAGLE. In those days, the EAGLE forums were hosted as newsgroups, we didn't get an online gate into the EAGLE forums until one of our distributors implemented it. Newark then hooked into it and those forums got mirrored to their site. In June of 2016 we were officially acquired by Autodesk and the rest is history as they say.

Even in those early days of my career, EAGLE had a vibrant passionate community and through our various transitions that has always been the case. Even in the difficult moments of these transitions, you all showed that you deeply cared about EAGLE as more than just a tool. All of EAGLE's success can be accredited to you, our users, because of you EAGLE grew, and that growth took us to where we are today.

In early 2020, Fusion Electronics saw the light of day. It was a milestone release and the culmination of a few years of work. We took the core of EAGLE and brought it into Fusion, from there we have continued to grow the codebase adding features and workflows. Today, Fusion has grown from that codebase to a program that from a technical perspective has eclipsed EAGLE and outgrown it. For this reason, Autodesk made the decision to End of Life (EOL) EAGLE effective June 7,2026. For the full details you can see the announcement here.

With that announcement it is now my duty to inform you all that the EAGLE Forum will be made Read Only in a little over a year on June 7, 2026.  Then after a 3 month grace period on September 7, 2026 the EAGLE Forum will be Archived

It's been harder to write this message than I thought it would be. EAGLE has been a big part of my career for the last almost 15 years. It has been a pleasure working with all of you over these years. It is my hope that if you have the circumstances that you'll consider continuing your work in Fusion. All of the EAGLE files will work seamlessly in Fusion. I invite you all to check out the latest version of Fusion, I'll continue to be here, now supporting Fusion. See you in the Fusion forums!

Warm Regards,

Jorge Garcia
