Hi Charlie –

Yes. Reposition replaced Smash. I agree in this context that is a little unclear. The below video describes the differences. We want to avoid the esoteric terms like Smash which have zero meaning anywhere outside of the EAGLE UI. And since we were adding so much more to the tool, we went with what it’s really for…Repositioning Attributes. Unfortunately, in this corner case, that verbiage is a little weak and unclear. We will do whatever we can to avoid bringing Smash back into the UI in a strong way but it sounds like we need to rethink this scenario. Thanks for the heads up.

Cheers,

Anytime man. Looking forward to seeing the L1 board up close. WRT to the Altium PCB translation, we’re working on it. No ETA yet but if you have a need, I can share much better ways to get tracks and polygons out of it than Gerber.

Best regards,
Matt

How do you smash a group of components? It doesn't seem to work like it did before. I'm sure it must be operator error -- btw I have watched the video

either type

smash

group

select the group you want to reposition

right click on a grouped component or in area and it should show reposition group on the context menu (see my video)

or you can do

group then

smash

That works -- guess I have to do a better job of purging "smash" from my vocabulary.

Thanks!

If you are rethinking scenarios, please consider a Show/Hide option in the Reposition sub menu.
