Eagle 9 cam mechanical layer

Two part
Why does cam gerber cutouts checkbox include holes layer, this is confusing as holes are either already included in drills or in a second drills. Seems odd, to get actual only cutouts I need to manually include milling dimension layers making the checkbox useless.

Secondly
How does one control the width of board outline and cutouts in gerber output, they seem to be unrelated to actual objects widths and seem kind of thick.

Hello @Anonymous,

I hope you're doing well. The cutouts option in the CAM is not as granular as picking specific layers. In some situations it may be easier to pick cutouts instead of being specific with the layers. It's just another option in the CAM processor you don't have to use it.

The width of the board outline and the cutouts is dictated by the width of the lines used in EAGLE to draw those features. So what ever width you used in drawing your outline that's the thickness you'll see in the gerber.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards

Yeah my concern was that its called "cutouts" but includes drills, seemed confusing,

The width is NOT the line width, that is why I asked..

See attached the difference between layer export and checkbox export.
