Eagle 9.6.2 Won't Open

Eagle 9.6.2 will not open when attempting to launch the .exe. I have tried:
-Launching .exe directly.
-Launching from "eagle_SW_OpenGL.bat".
-Opening .brd, .sch, .prj files.
-Uninstalling and reinstalling 9.6.2.
-Installing older versions back to 9.5.1.
-Renaming libeay32.dll to libeay32.dll.bak, per https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/eagle/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Eagle-cr....
-Clearing roaming and cache data.
-Running as administrator.
-Uninstalling Windows updates from the past two months.

None of these attempts have allowed me to open Eagle. I am unaware of what change caused this issue, as it worked one day and then would not open when I arrived the next morning. Does anyone have any input on this issue? Autodesk support has been unable to resolve.

Hi @ryan.brewer9R5KC,

I hope you're doing well. Do you know if your Windows PC did an update recently?

That's the only thing I could think of that would not let EAGLE start. I'm going to send you a DM to see what we can figure out.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

The issue on our system was related to the program defaulting to using a NVIDIA high performance graphics controller instead of the integrated Intel controller. The issues started following a NVIDIA graphics driver update. Ultimately setting Eagle to always use the Intel controller fixed the problem.

Here is a link to how to set the default controller for an app:

Just do this for Eagle instead of Autodesk.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Have you attempted the other suggestions on this thread. If EAGLE doesn't start at all it might be LIBEAY32.dll issue.

Update *** This worked

Rename "LIBEAY32.dll"

Follow the steps:

  1. Navigate to "C:\EAGLE 9.x" and find the file "LIBEAY32.dll".
  2. Rename the .dll by appending .bak at the end of the file name: "LIBEAY32.dll.bak".
  3. Start Eagle again, the program should open with no issue.

I know this is older but I just installed 9.6.2 on a new computer. When I open it seems like it will and then never appears.
windows 11 pro

os build 22621.2134

NVidia RTX A4500

I tried the right click and selected the Eagle.Exe for the high performance graphics and didn’t change. Any ideas? Thanks
