Eagle 9.1.x won't start on Windows 10

I got a new notebook and tried to install Eagle, first 9.1.0, then 9.1.3.

On first start I need to enter account data and last verify with SMS code.

Then window disappears and nothing happens.

When I try to start Eagle, sometimes there's the splash-screen, but no program window opens. I can see in task manager that eagle .exe quits after some seconds.

Already deleted c:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Eagle\subscription.v1 - start over wiith verification and same issue

So I am not able to use the program. Any ideas to fix it?

I have installed Eagle 9.6.2 today on Windows 10 Home on my Acer Swift5 with integrated graphics (Intel). The program does not start up. When I run the application, the splash screen appears, then nothing. It is not even present in the Task Manager. I looked up for the file mentioned in the above post, but unable to find the file. Request your help.

As I deleted the file I can't be sure but I'm sure it was in the install directory.

In answer #36 they posted "Faulting module path: C:\EAGLE 9.6.1\LIBEAY32.dll" although if you chose a different install directory you might want to look there.

Or just install KiCad which is what I have decided to use for now. 😉

Those links don't work anymore. I wound up removing the libeay32.dll file out of the Eagle directory and now it works. I thought I had to replace the file, but just deleting it seems to have fixed it. New install of Eagle 9.6.2 on a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro. Eagle would display loading, then go away and never load.

I rather wonder why this still isn't fixed since two years 🤔

Wow, this was still an issue when I installed 9.5.2, and it's still an issue with 9.6.2 eight months later.  Same solution worked.

It's now the end of 2020 and I still had to replace that .dll file to actually get eagle to startup and run on one of our machines. Kinda ridiculous...

Well, guess we'll be looking for other software solutions already

By the way, since the original solution was posted, the file structure has changed a bit, but look for the win64 version of the zip files and you'll get the dll you want.

I've tried various versions of the libeay32.dll file including deleting it as another contributor tried, but I can't get Eagle 9.6.2 to launch.  It just sits at the splash screen, with loading.... at the bottom left hand corner.

Hi,

I was working on some project in Eagle, and it crashed. Now the Eagle won't open and every time I am launching Eagle it's asking me whether I want to load the board as well from the project I was working from. I have tried installing it again and replacing dll files as mentioned in this discussion but it didn't work for me. I will appreciate any help.

Thanks!
