Eagle 9.1.x won't start on Windows 10

I got a new notebook and tried to install Eagle, first 9.1.0, then 9.1.3.

On first start I need to enter account data and last verify with SMS code.

Then window disappears and nothing happens.

When I try to start Eagle, sometimes there's the splash-screen, but no program window opens. I can see in task manager that eagle .exe quits after some seconds.

Already deleted c:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Eagle\subscription.v1 - start over wiith verification and same issue

So I am not able to use the program. Any ideas to fix it?

New 9.2.1 doesn't change the situation .

Still the only chance is to use 9.0.1, delete subscription file and go through registration prior every use. Really silly and meanwhile I really hate the stupid SMS code verification.

I had a chat with Jorge from Autodesk support and he solved the two issues for me.

1. Replacing "libeay32.dll" in Eagle install directory by version coming with OPENSSL did the job. Eagle now starts as it should.

https://wiki.openssl.org/index.php/Binaries links to https://indy.fulgan.com/SSL/ (second link) where we took "libeay32.dll" out of "openssl-1.0.2p-x64_86-win64.zip"

2. disabled 2 facor authentication under security in account settings - now E-Mail and password does the job.

Thanks to Jorge for taking the time and solving the issues

This worked for me too.  I'm running EagleCAD 9.2.2 on a Kodlix N42-D MiniPC, and I couldn't get past the splash screen until I replaced libeay32.dll.  Thanks!

Remove "libeay32.dll" from the folder where the eagle is installed. Then you will be able to use eagle well.

Had the same problem today with a brand new HP Laptop and Eagle version 9.5.2, and the above fix worked great, although I used openssl - 1.0.2t-x64_86-win64.zip

It's been a year and a half since this was originally reported and the problem still exists in new downloads on fresh Windows installations.  I just had to do this again.  When will it be fixed?

Thanks for the solution!  I used it today with EAGLE 9.5.2 and the file from openssl-1.0.2u-x64_86-win64.zip, and it worked.

Removing "libeay32.dll" worked for me too. You would have thought Autodesk could fix this.

Although I fixed this with Eagle I now find some problem also exists with installing DWGTrueView.

My conclusion is the problem lies with AutoDesk and poor QC by the programmers working for the company who can't fix an at least 2-year-old installation problem that appears to have an easy workaround but that has to be sussed out by end-users. Management is also obviously sleeping on the job.
