default trace width not working right

I need to make many small traces around 0.4mm, setting each manually is not an option.

If I click icon to draw air wire (trace) ->  then on upper tool bar, set the drop down from 0.4572 to 0.2, you would think it is set.  However, when I go to draw the trace, I click on air wire again and draw the trace but it comes back as 0.4572 each time

I tried command "set width 0.3".  Each time I do airwire, it still defaults to 0.4572

However, If i do "set width 3", this works and the new default value is a huge trace

I know the values I am setting are valid as I can change existing traces down to 0.1mm

Ive tried net classes, changing the default to 0.4 but no luck either.

help is appreciated. Thanks Jorge

Hi @jmacioneWF972 ,

Go to Options > Set > Misc. See if Auto Set Route width and drill is active. If it is, uncheck it that will let whatever thickness you set a trace to, to be left alone.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi @jmacioneWF972 ,

So the issue here is that you have minimum width for the design set to 18mils which is 0.4572mm. This is why it keeps changing whenever you enter a value less than 0.4572mm. The minimum width for the whole design should be the smallest your manufacturer can do. By setting the value so high you are effectively blocking your ability use lower values.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
