In Eagle 9.2 we set our DRC / Sizes / Minimum Width to specify the Rules for Minimum Width. This parameter is verified when we run DRC Errors to make sure we did not violate the rule.
It also seems to set the width of any line we draw, which is a nuisance.
I'd like to keep the rule as to minimum width of a trace, but I'd also like to be able to set the width of any traces I intend to draw notwithstanding the Minimum Width established in DRC.
Example: I set DRC Minimum Width to 10 mils and I route 20 traces @ 10 mils. Some time later I want to draw some 24 mil traces, some 20 mil traces, some 135 mil traces, etc.
I have 2 options:
1) Go into DRC and change Minimum Width rule to the width of the trace I want to draw, which causes errors to be called on everything already drawn less than the new width, or,
2) Be bullied and abused on every effing chunk of a trace I want to draw thereafter when that chunk of trace is not 10 mils by having to right click, select Route, go to a top menu bar and change the width to what I need, then draw that chunk, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. It's absolutely horrible. Horrible. Horrible. HORRIBLE.
So WTF is up with this?
Is there a configuration setting I'm not finding in this software?
How can I say to this software "Draw all my traces hereafter at n mils width until I tell you otherwise."
