I ask how to set the aperture of the Stop Mask in the Footprint section of the Library Editor (relative to PAD or SMD).

What I get is a fixed, 0.100 mm aperture against the PAD and the SMD footprint.

I know that the aperture of the Stop Mask is defined in the Design Rules -A> Masks and I know that in the board layout it is possibile to modify the aperture of the Stop Mask by editing the Design Rules.

But I need to set the aperture of the Stop Mask at the Library level and I see no way to edit the Design Rules inside the Library Editor.

The same question is for the Cream definition.

Thank you for the support.

You can't set the design rules in the library. This is by design - the library is generic and defines parts, the design rules specify the capabilities of the board house who will build your design.

I don't think there's a specific "mask size" parameter in the library. Instead, it's a flag to "auto-generate mask", which tells the board editor to apply the standard DRC size. The way to specify a custom mask (or cream) is to turn off that auto-generate flag and draw it by hand.

Thank you for the clarification.

It is not the same things defining the Stop mask aperture in the Library or in the Layout editor.

In the latter, the setting is applied to all pads and smt inside the board, while in the Library you can define specific aperture based on the footprint characteristics. For example, I want to set a standard 0.1 mm aperture for most components, but for very small or very dense component I need to reduce it down to 0.05 mm or lower.

I know that it is possibile to define a custom Stop mask in the Library editor (that is exactly I am doing), but defining the Stop mask by the Polygon function is quite triky when you have to center it to the pads.

Moreover, some shapes as the square one with round edge, takes a lot of time to drawn.
