Component footprint not the same as in library

I have a custom library where I took parts from managed libraries and edited the drill and pad sizes and used the replace function to change all the parts in a project to my custom version. This version failed the DRC for a PCB machine I am using so I went back into the library to change the footprint to have smaller pads which would fix the problems except the schematic will not update to this new version.

I've tried to make a new library and a new project but the footprint always stays the same even when I do the same thing I did to replace them the first time even though the correct footprint shows in the library viewer.

The screenshots show the correct footprint with most pads being small in the library (the new version that I want to use) and the part on the board which has all large pads (the version I want to replace and that was edited from a different version previously)

Hi @Anonymous,

I hope you're doing well. It's sound like you are getting bit by the annular ring functionality (formally known as restring). See this blog for the full explanation https://www.autodesk.com/products/eagle/blog/what-you-didnt-know-about-eagle-restring/

Basically, because your annular rings in the library are thinner than what the DRC calculates they are getting swelled up to match the DRC settings. If you adjust the DRC > Annular Ring settings you'll see that you can get what you defined in the library to be preserved.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
