Hi,
in the layout editor it is not possible any more to select a line, that is directly below another line. So if two lines are drawn directly on each other in different layers, the layout editor just selects the "upper" one and you are not able to chose the other line any more.
In Eagle 7.7 and versions before, the program gave you the possibility to chose between the two (or more) possibilities, by either holding of the selection until acknowledged (right click through) or by direct right click "next".
I tested it on a Fedora system and on a Ubuntu system. Both not working.
Why has this feature been removed?
It makes corrections to the routing/layout nearly impossible. Turning of the layers work and moving the "upper" line to the side, which is stupid.

Hi JuergenGW382,
We are really sorry for any inconvenience you might be experiencing with the latest version of EAGLE. There are a few option that can be explored here.
If you wish to have the exact behavior EAGLE had in the past, click on Options/Set/Misc Tab and deselect the option 'Group command default on', this will cause EAGLE to adopt its legacy behavior during the cycle select.
If you wish to keep the 'Group Command default on' you can press and hold the ALT key while you left click. This will allow you to cycle threw the items you are trying to grab.
Let me know if this helps.
Best Regards,
Ed
Hi,
thanks for the answer. I played around with it, but if there are two polygons, that has one edge directly at the same place as a line e.g. dimensions, the selecting with pressing ALT is nearly not working. It sometimes hits and sometimes it does not.
However turning off 'Group Command default on' does revert it to the old behavior as you suggested. Which is ok for the moment.
