Altium library Import problems

I am new to Fusion and Eagle enjoying the software and am in the process of migrating from Altium Designer.  I am using the Library.io to convert Altium part librarys with mixed success.   I have had success with 3 out of 5 imports so far.  Of the 2 that I am having trouble with:

First one is a .IntLib which I was able to upload, however it is stuck at 0% in the processing window for almost 24hrs. Since it is not complete with the conversion I have no obvious way to cancel and delete the file.  Ultimately a small problem but it really bugs me to have it stuck there.

2)I converted a .SchLib and when I view it from Library.io has 293 components 300 symbols, 359 packages and 359 footprints.  When I try to edit it in fusion it says it has 0 of everything.  If I try to import apart from it into a custom library I am creating in Fusion it will show me the list of parts that are supposed to be in the library but the view windows are all blank and when I actually try to import a device fusion crashes. If I try to import a footprint or symbol, nothing happens but it doesn't crash.  I feel like I probably have something wonky with my original lib but it works fine in Altium, any suggestions as to what to look for would be much appreciated.  Also are there any offline library scrubbers/converters?

Thanks to all in advance!

Hi @nickU9WBV ,

I hope you're doing well. Could you upload a sample library for analysis? I'll reach out to our devs, but I know they would want to have something to test.

Has there been a resolution to this issue? I have tried to upload my Altium symbol library (.SchLib), and it just shows 0% in library.io. My PCB footprint library uploaded fine without issue.

I am running into the same problem migrating a .SchLib through Library.io. The Library.io shows all the components, but opening it on Fusion shows it is empty. I would like to know if there is any solution.

This appears to still be an unresolved issue. I have just attempted to re-upload my Altium files through Library.io. The upload completes and if I view the library on the Library.io website everything is there. When I add the library to Fusion Eagle then open the "Place Part" menu I can see the components I want to place onto a schematic, but selecting "OK" results in nothing happening (one time it crashed Fusion). Any help or follow-up would be helpful, thanks.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I hope you're doing well. Make sure that in EAGLE you have downloaded the Altium managed library so that EAGLE can use it, otherwise you won't able to place it.

If you are in Fusion 360 , then you have to create a Fusion Team Library and link it to the Altium managed library you made. That's the only way to bring it into Fusion 360.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Thank you for the quick reply @jorge_garcia

I don't completely understand what you mean by "creating a Fusion Team Library", but I have tried these two things:

When I open a new library and try to link it to a library.io managed library I receive this error:

When I go into the library.io and download the files that were created then I try to open the downloaded files in Fusion I receive this error:

Hi @Anonymous ,

The key point to understand is that you can't modify the library.io library in Fusion. You have to make a library in Fusion, link it to library.io and then pull in the Altium library you imported. You'll end up having two copies of the library that are linked , one in Fusion Team the other on library.io.

So in this case. Open a new library in Fusion 360 save it and then try to link it to library.io.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Thank you, I appreciate further assistance.

I have tried exactly this and it still isn't giving me any components. In Library.io I have a library that has been uploaded that I can see the components and all the data with it:

1.png

I have opened Fusion, created a new Electronics Library and saved it:

jonathanhanson_0-1627429729609.png

I linked it to the Library.io library:

2.png

I then receive this pop-up:

jonathanhanson_2-1627429946359.png

If I select "Merge Latest Version" then I receive this "Warning" pop-up:

jonathanhanson_3-1627429987263.png

I select "OK" and nothing has been pulled into the library. if I select the other option "Replace Local Library" it prompts a user save, but still nothing actually populates into my Fusion library. I can use the "Pull Changes from Library.io" button, but it just says "Library is up-to-date" and nothing changes.

Any other ideas?

Just for fun I attempted a conversion for just one of my components/models using an Altium Integrated Library instead of using the "unlinked" schematic/pcb libraries.

I generated the integrated library and uploaded it to Library.io which was able to convert it successfully. I had to download the .lbr file that library.io generated then open that directly as a library within Fusion. I was still unable to link the library to the library.io page (I received the same errors that I mentioned in my previous posts), but I'm not too concerned about that. Now I have a new problem!

In Altium libraries you have the ability to set different parameters through this dialogue box:

jonathanhanson_0-1629325364346.png

When Library.io converted the data it appears to strip all the information from these parameters and only uses the Altium "Description" line. I then decided I would try and manually add the parameters to Fusion, but couldn't find any sort of familiar dialogue to perform this action. These parameters are critical as they are able to be exported to BOMs at the end of PCB development. Do these parameters get saved somewhere that I am unaware of? Am I able to set parameters at all?

Hi @autodesk8LRWT ,

I hope you're doing well. Could you actually post the library as an attachment?

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi,

is there a solution to this?

I have the same problem, conversion stuck at 0% and I can't finish or delete it.
