3D Model Generation has failed

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have previously generated STEP files for this board, all I have done is move a few components and add traces/vias, no components have been added. I get a failure instantly every time I try to generate a STEP file. What could be causing this, it gives me no additional information on why it failed to generate a model.

Hi @Anonymous,

This is hard, it's possible your design was on the edge of timing out the servers. Another possibility would be some part that isn't handled by the conversion. The only way to know would be to inspect the file. I'll send you a DM with my e-mail so you can send the file for review.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Hi @purchasingSMLXL,

I hope you're doing well. Try it again and if it fails once more let me know and I'll talk to the developers about it.

Right now I'm experiencing the same issue while exporting the .brd file to a .STEP

I've exported this same file some time ago but now it continues throwing the same error.

Here is a snip of control panel home tab:

Does anyone knows how to solve it,

Or at least what's the reason for this?

I am experiencing the same issue. I think the source is timing on servers. There is probably some time limit for processing the file. When I remove any component with a complex 3D model from the board then the export of step-model succeeds.

I have installed FUSION 360 on Eagle and I export it to the cloud.

Choose 'Create new Fusion 360 design' option and select 'Next>' button.

Then you acces to your private cloud and get the 3D Model.

This approached worked for me too. I just needed to learn a few basics of Fusion 360,  it the advice nailed it. Just select the Fusion 360 tab within eagle and rest is straightforward.

I recently have the same problem!

Is there any news besides the mentioned work-around?
