Hello Sushmitha,

I hope you're doing well. Fusion can import a step file but importing copper shapes in EAGLE is best done using the import-dxf-polygons ulp that's available here:
http://eagle.autodesk.com/eagle/ulp?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q%5Btitle_or_author_or_description_cont%5D=import...

Make sure that your DXF polygons are closed contours otherwise this function won't work.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hello,

can we modify DXF file ? .DXF file is a board file imported in eagle and i wanted to make few changes like layer colors, is there any script or shortcut that imports layers automatically instead doing it manually.

Sushmitha

Hello Sushmitha,

We don't have anything at this moment that imports the layers automatically at this point in time.

Hi Sushmitha,

You can associate 3D models (STEP) with components within your own managed libraries and then when you use the Fusion360 integration in EAGLE you can see a 3D view of your board complete with component models for all components which have an appropriate model assigned in the managed libraries they are using.

The way the models are assigned to the library however is a little awkward. You have to push your local library to the cloud system (done through the EAGLE library manager) and then you add and position the 3D models within the cloud based editor. In order to maintain a complex library you end with with a whole lot of back and forth between the local library and the cloud version which can be quite frustrating.

Best Regards,

Rachael

Hello,

After importing schematic in eagle, the pin numbers and text included in graphics of the schematic are of size 0.139.

i would like to know how to change the size of pin  numbers and text into 0.1 at once .

i have attached the schematic below , one with graphics and one with pin numbers.

Regards

Sushmitha

Hello @Anonymous,

Thanks for posting to the forums. Group all of your design. Then click on the CHANGE icon(It looks like a wrench) in the menu that pops up select size and then pick the size you want your text to have(If it's not in the list at the bottom you will find ..., click that option to enter a custom size). Now somewhere within the group, hold ctrl and then right-click all of the text will change it's size.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hello,

I have come acrossed  the tool SnapEDA tool , where we can download symbols and footprints in any CAD formats. And only import to SnapEDA is eagle files.

i want to know how actually the SnapEDA works internally , what is the algorithm used that giving only pin information from the datasheet it can create symbol and respective footprint . how its getting to know the package of the component. what algorithm being used in this .

Regards,

Sushmitha

You'd be better asking SnapEDA for this as they are a completely separate company producing libraries with outputs for several ECAD vendors, not just for EAGLE.

Personally I would never use library part services like this, it's not hard to create parts yourself once you know how and you can end up spending as much time checking what you've obtained from elsewhere anyway, or at least you should if you want to avoid expensive board re-spins caused by library part errors.

Rachael
