eagel 8 linux - core dump

Hi,

I'm going to have a look at the new release.

I untar the archiv into a folder as a non-root user, start EAGLE as ./eagle, accept the license agreement and I get the following messages

QApplication::setColorSpec: This function must be called before the QApplication object is created
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

How can I solve this issue.

My OS is openSUSE Leap 42.2.

With regards,

Detlef

Download the Eagle - Linux pkg which is:  Autodesk_EAGLE_8.0_English_Linux_64bit.tar.gz

click the tar.gz.    it openes in the Archive Manager showing the   eagle-8.0.0   directory

Drag this into your home directory, go in, click Eagle,  Works.

What linux distribution do you use? On a current openSUSE 42.2 64bit it core dumps.

Hi legospieler,

I hope you're doing well. For OpenSuse 42.2 please check the readme file inside the extracted tar file. There are some special commands that need to be entered in order to get it to run.

Please accept as solution if my post fully resolves or you issue, or reply with additional details if the problem persists.

Best Regards,

Jorge Garcia

Hi Jorge,

I have been a little bit to fast by clicking the solved-button. The core dump right after the start is gone. But the login to autodesk is -- userid and password are correct -- finished with a " ABORT: Invalid license. EAGLE will now close." message and a core dump.

Do I need any further steps to enable the free version?

With Regards,

Detlef

Hello Detlef,

This new problem is actually being addressed in a different thread:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/eagle-forum/unable-to-launch-eagle/td-p/6816830

I'm going to be posting some more information on the problem there. Please check out the above thread that way I can try to maintain the integrity of this thread. Feel free to post on that thread as you see fit.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,
