Differential pair routing: why not symmetric?

Hello,

I have a pair of USB data signals that I wanted to route with the differential routing pair tool.

This is the routing solution the tool offers:

The offered routing seems unsymmetric although start and end points are symmetric to the horizontal line that runs through the center of U3.

While the difference is minimal and irrelevant in my design, I wonder why the routing is not symmetric.

Best regards,

Daniel

Hi @Dan.K.2020,

I hope you're doing well. Just taking a shot in the dark here those resistors on the left side might not be vertically aligned, in other words one might be a little more to the left than the other. The difference is likely very subtle but might be enough to throw off the symmetry.

With anything automatic, you can always adjust the result afterwards to make it symmetric.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
