Moving dynamic block with attributes

I made a dynamic block with attributes.

The block was to be moved using Linear parameter + move action, and then a lookup parpameter and action.

The block moves as it is suppose to but the attributes are left behind.

Why?

How can I get the attributes to move with the dynamic block?

The attribute properties are:

Verify = Yes.

Lock position: Yes or No don't seem to make a difference.

Is this a bug in AutoCAD or is there a solution to this?

Hi,

In any case using dynamics in a block the lock of attributes has to be set to ON.

If you have a move parameter and want the attributes to follow this move the attributes have to be in the selectionset of the action. PLUS: if you modified anything on attribute-definition(s) don't forget to ATTSYNC after modification of the blockdefinition!

Thanks Alfred, but I think I figured out what the problem was.

The block I used (including the attributes) was actually made in a previous version of AutoCAD.

That didn't work.

So I made the attributes over again 1by1 in AutoCAD 2012.

Then it worked.

And I locked the attributes from moving (Didn't try not locking them so don't know if that was an issue).

Anyway. Now it works. Man Very Happy

Thank you.

Existing Attrib's are hit and miss when Dynamic Properties are applied to an existing block.

In most cases I believe that if you set the Atrrib's to Locked before adding Dynamic Properties the Attrib's will perform as expected.

And to reiterate: Attributes must be Locked in Dynamic Blocks to work as intended.

Also, If you have multiple attributes, make sure the tags are different inside the block!

If you have more than one attribute inside a block with identical tags, they will not act as expected.

I wanted to beat my head against the wall until I figured this out.
