Tether One Block to Another

I'm looking to see if its possible to tether one block to another so they can be connected to each other but indepenantly moved. I have a dynamic HVAC diffuser block and I want to connect a GRD tag to it but allow for both of them to be moved around without moving the other block. GRD tag attributes would need to be modifiable.

Share with us a sample DWG file with these two elements in it, show a few iterations o the movement you envision.

I just want to:

-"Tether" these two blocks together
-Have the diffuser remain as dynamic block
-keep the diffuser tag as a modifiable dynamic block.

As @pendean has said please post the drawing with some variations of what you would like to happen. Just posting the two blocks as is does not give us any idea of what you want.

I'm not really sure how to post a drawing of what I would like for the blocks to do because if I could show them doing what I want them to do then I would already have my solution. I guess the easiest way to put this is, in my drawing I want the two blocks to act independent from one another, just as they are now, but if you select one of them then the other becomes selected as well (or highlighted...whichever is the correct verbiage in this instance).

Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way and the GRD tag should be part of the dynamic block instead.....? I could just toggle it on/off with visibility states perhaps. Is it possible to have an attributes inside of a dynamic block?

@Dustin11 just fudge it, skootch them side by side in multiple scenarios so we can all understand how you want the two objects to relate to each other as you use them in many locations in a typical file.

For example: are they always to be inline horizontally?
Or always Vertically?
Or always at a 45 angle on the left and right?
Or always a specific distance apart?
or touching?

Or all the above as choices for the user?

We are users like you with careers and jobs in our respective industries and companies, no one here is Autodesk, if you want help you're going to have to put some effort into explaining exactly what you need by showing us.

I think I may have found a semi-solution to how I wanted the two blocks to behave (example attached). I pretty much just wanted them to be a single entity but to be moved independent from one another. I added the attribute block to the dynamic block (required an attsync to get the block to recognize attributes had been added), so now the att block is independent but still remains part of the GRD. I also added the feature to toggle it on and off which is a nice touch. Only thing I would like to be able to do is figure out a way to have the layers of the two blocks have the ability to be changed differently from one another but I'm not sure if thats possible when they're in the same block unless I want to use color overrides which wouldn't allow for future status change (new, existing, demo).
