Scale Dimensions and Text in blocks

Hello,

I have a questions about scaling text and dimensions in blocks.

without using annotative text/dimensions, is there a way of changing/controlling the size. using visibility state will not work as there would be too many variables for what I had in mind.

if there is a way to change the Dim Style and adjust the Text height, that would be perfect but I can't see how this is possible.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Why would you not use annotative text and dimensions?  That's exactly what it is for and it is the best feature added to AutoCAD since dynamic blocks.

In my workplace the annotative objects were causing issues so we don't work with anything annotative. I have be tasked with creating standard block details without using annotative text/dimensions.

is there a way of using annotative objects that can be changed manually and remain at that scale regardless of viewport scale?

I've found annotative objects to work very consistently as they should.  What problems were they causing?  Are you referring to operator error or issues caused by the annotative objects?
