Prevent Dimensions in a Block From Being Mirrored

Hello everyone

Is it possible to prevent dimensions, more exactly the dimension text, to be mirrored when the block is being mirrored?

I tried solving this issue with adding flip action/parameter to the dimension line, but it didn't work.

When flipped along vertical or horizontal axis, the text didn't flip, only the dimension line did. The text of the dimension line remained in it's mirrored state.

I am looking forward to solving this issue.

It would be super time efficient if I could change the dimensions of one block instance, instead of having separated block when the drawing has to be presented in mirrored state/view/section.

Any help is more than welcomed:)

Try setting sys variable MIRRTEXT=0.

It sure does for me... and you still haven't posted the block file.  I'm not sure what further help you want when I cannot replicate your issue and you don't post the file to look at.

Ok, I see what you are saying.  When the mirror command is used on a block that has dimensions within it, the text is mirrored. 

A solution I have used is to insert attributes with fields referencing the dimension values and using those to replace the dimension text.  Attributes WILL respect MIRRTEXT sys variable when within a block.

yes, thats the issue.. how would you go about adding an attribute? I don't understand. Can you share a short recording or sharing a basic example block file as a solution, which would be just a rectangle and dimensions around it?

Is it possible the text of the dynamic dimension to be in meters or centimeters apart from inches and feed? I only work with metric units.

All the field does is reference the dimension, so if your dimension is in centimetres / metres it will show as that

Currently, I am drawing in millimeter (mm) units and the units of the attribute dim line and the units of the actual object are not the same.

Also, how can I get rid of the feet symbol in the attribute and substitute it with meter symbol (m)?

The highlighted display of fields is controlled by the system variable FIELDDISPLAY.  You can turn it off, but I don't understand why you would want to.  It never plots and only assists in showing that the text is a field.  IMO there is no downside to having it display and there is a downside to turning it off.
