I work for a door manufacturing company and we draw doors with different types of scroll work all the time. We are having to hand draw every scroll, is there a way to resize the scroll to match a bigger or smaller door opening but be able to keep the same scroll dimensions within the scroll
So i would want to take this scroll and put it in another door that is a different size door. but i would want the scroll width to stay the same.
when i say same size i mean if all the pickets or line work is 1" in width, i need it to stay 1" and not grow to 2" if i sized scroll bigger.
If you 'stretch' the scroll out in width by scaling it up, you'd also increase the width of the frames which is not what you want right? You're saying it's always the same scroll design with 6 gaps, the gaps get wider/taller but the framework remains the same thickness?
I don't think its possible to create a dynamic solution for this
You could create the design made out of a line in the axis of the framework, then scale it to the desired size and then offset the lines. It'd save some work but you'd still need to manually create the 'bulges' at the ends of the curls, which can be done with a circle, trim, fillet combo
You can create a squished down block of your axes with size 1x1, then you can resize it to your desired dimension in the properties with scale X and Y, then explode it, offset the lines and clean it up. Might be faster than your current workflow.
There might be ways to do what they are wanting, but to know for sure they would need to accommodate the request I made on message 5 for a cad file showing two different sizes of the same design. Short of that, any further input is ironic considering the thread title and "feels like we are wasting time."
