Mtext Field Referencing Itself

Id like to have a Mtext object that shows its own X position. Ive entered a field and gone to object but i cant select itself. So i selected another Mtext object and set it to give the X position. I then copied the expression below. I then went into the selected Mtext object, entered a field, then used the formula option. I pasted the expression i copied and a field popped up with the correct value. If i click into the field, only the X checkbox is selected. As soon as i click OK. It displays the location of itself, but instead of just X. It displays X,Y and Z. I want it to display just X. I know this is sort of confusing, i tried to explain it the best i could. If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask. Thank you for your help.

Use a block attribute and you'll get access to the correct properties for this.  The field will be the default value for the attribute. The Field Name you would use is BlockPlaceHolder and the property would be Position.  There will be check boxes for X, Y and Z, along with formatting options.

Mtext in a block with field won't update.

Here's a block you can mess about with.

The "E" value is the one you want to work with.
