Issues binding dynamic blocks

Hi everyone!

Here at the office we use Autocad 2016, the complete version

Let me explain what happens, and see if someone  can help me with this.

I use dynamic blocks in my "base" CAD drawings that will be xref to a final sheet or several sheets;

When I manually bind (xref tool palette -> right-click on reference name -> bind -> insert) a sheet, the dynamic block remains as it is; but when I e-transmit (etransmit -> bind-insert) a set of sheets (doing this as a faster method), the dynamic block is exploded, losing all the dynamic parameters and returning to its original form.

Is it the AutoCAD version?

Am I missing something in the transmittal setups?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

Hi,

I am not able to replicate the issue on my end(AutoCAD 2018 & 2020). Can try to purge and Audit the Xref & main drawing and see it fixes the issue.

I also recommend checking if you have any pending updates for AutoCAD. If yes, then update it.

If it does fix the issue you can share the drawing so that we can check from our end🙂

Thanks for your response!

I want to believe that the IT crew have the software updated.

About the drawing, I'm starting to think that it has to be related with the file size of the xrefs; the walls highlighted in yellow and the red walls are one reference (file size is 300kb); the "what should be walls" highlighted in blue are another reference (file size is 1,900kb -because of the windows sent by the manufacturer-)

As you can see, it is the hatch that ignores the boundary.

I'm checking the windows, see if I can make them smaller.

Hi,

It depends on what software the manufacturer is using. If they are using AutoCAD Architecture(mostly I receive drawing created with Architecture) then there can proxy objects which would need to be exported to work with plain AutoCAD and there would some data tied to the drawing and making the drawing size big. I am not sure about it as I haven't seen the drawing.

Try this: Type in the command "-PURGE" press "R"=> Enter => Enter => "N" => Enter. This would remove the regapps from the drawing and slim it down🙂

Hi!!

So, update!

I sent the windows to its own reference, see if that could help, but no; I did the "-PURGE" to the files involved, and although there's like 400 RegApps, it did not help the drawing.

So the problem is with my base drawings and the dynamic blocks in them, I'm attaching them so you can take a look.

* I use the same dynamic blocks in an upper level of the project, and that sheet binds perfect*

The thing that I still don't get is why a "manual" bind -> insert does not messes with the hatch and the "etransmit" bind does.

Thanks!!
