issue with Chained Actions for text attribute on rotation

Hi, I've found this post - https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/dynamic-blocks-forum/dynamic-blocks-how-to-keep-attributes-horizontal... that I want to replicate for one of our blocks. Essentially want to rotate the electrical symbol keeping the text readable in the same direction.

  • I've used mtext + the shape.
  • added the point parameter + Move action + Chained set to Yes + Removed grip
  • added a rotate parameter + rotate action and included the point parameter

It works correctly as it rotates and keeps text orientated in the right way. However, the issue is the placement of the text on the rotation when the rotation is in N/S/E/W positions in some looks ok and in others, the text is moved a great distance away or overlaps the shape.  screencast - https://share.getcloudapp.com/BluGYG51

Block also attached

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your point parameter was somehow messing up. So I deleted it and put in a new one.

I've made a few minor changes to your block. I've made the insertion point of the text middle center. I've also moved it up a bit so that when it rotates it stays outside the triangle.

See the attached drawing

Thanks very much, hwalker, so essentially in future it's best to keep the point parameter and the text centre aligned in all cases so that it performs the rotation in this manner?

Yes I would keep them centre aligned, because using the other alignments will make the text "move" over the triangle which you obviously don't want to happen.
