Inserted Block Problem

I have created a fairly simple dynamicb lock (attached) but when it is inserted into a new drawing the block comes in but wihtout the visibility states parameter drop down (the only parameter).

What have I missed and how can I correct this?

It works if I open the original block .dwg, then copy and paste the symbol to a new drawing.

It works fine for me when copied and inserted into multiple files.

Is the block name 'noise' already defined in the files into which you are trying to insert this file?  If so, then the new insertion will adopt the properties of the existing block definition unless you 'redefine' it.

Are you doing something in the insert process that changes the scale of one of the axes?  A block with a different scale for the individual axes will lose its dynamic properties.

Thanks for your reply.

When I open the .dwg of the block and copy and paste it into another .dwg it is fine.

However, if I use the INSERT command the parameter grip does not appear. I have not scaled it disproportionally. The block is not resident within the new .dwg I attemnpt to insert.

I have a feeling it is something simple that I have overlooked.

it came in weird for me when i brought it in. Opening your drawing and either moving the blocks insert point to 0,0 or moving your UCS location to the blocks Insert point fixed it for me.

I also suggest saving the dynamic block definition as its own block rather the block in a drawing file...

In block ediior click on "save block as" the check the box "save block definition to drawing file"

...or don't that's cool too

Success!!

Fisrt, thanks for your replies.

Before I read your post I had brought the block into a new drawing files and then exploded it. The parameter drop down was then present nad working.

After reading your post I did the 'Save as..' for the block in the block editor. When I brought it in to a new .dwg it was fine.

In hindsight, I believe it was being read as a block within a .dwg when I tried to INSERT in a new file.

Thanks for everybody who posted.
