How to suppress trailing zeros in block table tabs?

I have been working with dynamic blocks for over a year and I still have no idea how to suppress trailing zeros inside the block table from dimensional constraints.  I've used DIMZIN = 12 to suppress all leading and trailing zeros in the file, as well as the custom properties for the block, but it has no effect on the tabs for the table. Yet, when I open up the block properties table, the zeros are being suppressed. Can someone tell me how to solve this, if at all possible?

Add a user parameter, make it type = text.  Add the user parameter to the left of the values.  Type in the text you would like displayed for each row.  Post the block if you want a step-by-step screencast.

The method I described works to eliminate trailing zeros regardless of the precision settings.  IMO precision (LUPREC sys variable) should always be set to the max in order to be able to catch and avoid small errors.
