How to give a total length of stretch (not add length to stetch)

Hi all,

I have made some dynamic blocks, and I use the stretch "action"  to give the block a specific length

I do know that there is a option within Autocad, to stretch to a total length, instead of adding length to the already existing length. You can do that by going to DSETTINGS and check the "enable Dimension input where possible"

The only problem is that normally I just want to add lengt to a stretch. I ONLY want to give a total length within specific dynamic blocks.

Is there a way to set a total length option for a specific dynamic block?

In dynamic blocks, you do add a linear dimension parameter, so you should be able to add a total length of that parameter right? I also was looking for a input box with a "Lookup" action, but also that wont give me the option to manually put in dimension (total width and height). You only can set default dimensions.

TLDR; So does anyone have any idea how I can set a total length for a specific linear stretch within a dynamic block?

Change it to a POLAR PARAMETER and then change the angle of the polar parameter to LIST and leave it at 0. See the two images below

thank you for the response.
This is sort of working, but for some reason I cant set the angel to 0 (it is a vertical stretch though) so 90 is good then?

The anoying thing though is that there is no arrow idication now that you can stretch it. I know this, but other people don`t (they are used to arrowheads to stretch and stuff). Is there a way to change this? And why is it nog possible to have the same option on a linear parameter + stretch?

If it's a vertical yes 90 will work.

Unfortunately there is no way to change the grip to an arrow.

Ok thank you, but still I dont understand one thing

Why cant I achieve the same with a normal linear stretch (for the total length problem)?

What makes the polar parameter + stretch different from a linear parameter.

I do understand that you can do both "rotate" and stretch with the polar parameter, but I really cant see or understand why I can use the total length option in the polar parameter + stretch, and not in the linear parameter + stretch

A linear parameter in a block acts like the "Relative to last Segment" in the image below, whilst the polar acts as the "Absolute". You can't just have one type or the other, otherwise people would get really frustrated, by typing a distance and the line either not stretching the length they typed or not becoming the length they typed.

I must admit changing the grip shape would be a nice addition though
