Graphic Scale linked to viewport

I have a dynamic scale we use that includes both our typical architectural and civil scales.  Is there a way to actually link this to the viewport so that the correct scale shows?  Generally, we set the viewport scale and then change the graphic scale to match, but just wanted to see if it was possible to somehow link the 2 to prevent the occasional "oops" with the viewport and graphic scale showing different sizes.

Thanks for any help.

The only way you can do it is insert a field code into the block AFTER you've placed the block in the drawing. A field inside a block cannot reference an item outside the block.

That gives me enough info.  I don't want to make this complicated.

I use a field in a block linked to a viewport property in my workflow.

You right-clk and select "object" from inside the filed editor then pick the viewport and pick the property you want linked into the filed.   I typically link the "standard Scale" property.
