formulas for values in a dynamic block

In IV I can easily get to the formula list for dimensions and add somewhat complicated formulas to my variables.  Ie.  if then statements, ceil, floor, etc.  How do I do this in ACAD. 

What I have is a dynamic block where for 3" to 5" pipe the size is 6" but for anything over 5" the value is 10".  I'd also love to have the visibility of an item changed when a value is greater than some other number.

Kudos though for seperating these somewhat distinct questions.

That is a better way to research possibilities.

The best thing always is to post a simple example DynBlk or two sets of entities that show the before and after.
