Field with formula in Dynamic block

Guys and Gals,

Is there a way to insert a field into a dynamic block that will take one of the dimensions and do a little math with it?  We have (or I'm trying to introduce our group to) dynamic blocks.  For much of our details, we dimension the parts on legal paper, then add that information to Excel worksheet, but being sure to add .03 or .015 to one dimension and .125 or .25 to another dimension.  I know, I know . . . don't get me started.  So, what I'd like to do is have a field in the block that will take the dimension in "Distance1" and add .03 to it.  The idea is to have a visible check to ensure the dimensions laboriously typed into Excel is correct.  I know, you're thinking, "What . . . .are you drafting in the '80s!??!?!?!"  the answer is an emphatic "YES!!!!"  and trying to leave them mullets and big hair behind!  Help me please!

Yes, this is do-able.

Make a new attribute for the block. In the default value select Insert Field. Select the field category Objects and you'll see Formula listed in the field names. Select in the area for the Formula: and choose Insert Field from the right-click menu. Select BlockPlaceholder from the field names and then select the name of the parameter from the Block reference properties, set the units/precision.  That will bring you back to the formula window where it should now read UpdatedDistance with a grey background.  Now type in the +.03 or whatever value you need tot add.

It's basically an attribute with a field that is a formula made from a field and a value.  If the 'value' needs to be changeable it could entered as a user parameter and put into the formula with a field.
