Expandable Door

Good afternoon Folks!

Today's question is a doozie!

I have a detail from an older drawing (not drawn by me) with a block showing a door.  BUT, if you single click the block, it allows you to change the height, width, and inner frame detail sizes by simply typing in the size you want it - as is, it's a 3ft x 7ft door, but if you single click and move your cursor to the top left, for example, it shows a number of 84".  If you then type in 96, it stretches  the door the additional 12".  It seems to be a cool little feature, the problem is I want to change one of the details of the block, but if I explode and re-block it, I no longer have the auto-stretch properties available.  I need to adjust it so the connecting point of the 2 diagonal lines remains in the middle position of the door.

I am not familiar with this type of thing, I've never come across it before, is anyone out there familiar with this type of thing, and do you know how to add in the change I'd like to make?

Many thanks,

MarkF

This is a dynamic block. You cant explode and reblock it. You have to edit the block parameters and actions.

https://www.autodesk.com/blogs/autocad/how-to-create-a-dynamic-block-and-save-time/

For this one, I got rid of your lines and created a polyline. Then I created two new stretch actions and used the same distance parameter. With those two new actions I put the stretch window crossing the polyline on the top for one and on the bottom for one. Since the two new stretch actions are working together I set the distance multiplier to .5 so in total it will equal 1.

you also have to remember to include the polylin in the sideway stretch action as wel

Don’t explode it but use Blockedit
