Dynamic Block: Stretch in BOTH directions

Is it possible to have a dynamic block stretch in both directions based on a center point? If so, how?

Thanks in advance.

DYN_Curtain.jpg

Hi, sorry to bring out the old posting. Trying to avoid asking same/similar question many times.

I'm trying to do a dynamic block of a curtain (in plan) with curtain types Visibility. Among of the type is 'Sheer + Drape (Center)'  and 'Sheer (Center) which requires Stretch action for both directions.

I have tried to play a lot with the action including the suggestion as in this topic but I failed and getting confused with it as the Stretch actions involves another set of Array and Stretch action in different Visibility. In addition, the grips for all Linear Parameter will not follow/sync with the other grip as I tried to Stretch in current Visibility. It moves separately.

Anyone kindly to guide me to solve my confusion to my problem? Many thanks in advance.

@äcäp I believe the attached drawing is what you want to happen

Hi Howard,

Yes that is the action that I want! Thank you so much!

How did you do that? The block is now completed. The stretch action on both sides works. The grips sync very well.

I just need to move the linear parameter grip arrows slightly to the both ends and associate the blinds with one of the stretch action to make the stretch length sync with the curtain when you drag the left arrow.

My dynamic block problem is now solved. Thanks again!

@äcäp

Normally when doing a symmetrical stretch it would be one stretch with the basepoint set at the middle.

Since that wasn't what you needed I made two stretches which started from the middle of the block

I turned off the grips for your array stretches and chained them to the stretches I added.

I also added the stretches I made to the opposite stretch and changed the direction to 180 degrees, so the would each stretch the other parameter (I'm useless at explaining stuff)
