dynamic block commotion...am I doing this the right way?

Hello to all:

I could benefit from some advice:  is the attached dynamic block "the best way" to go about what I'm trying to achieve?

I've been at this for several days now, and it's getting quite hairy.  The blocks above the red-line are an earlier iteration, but perfect example of my overall concept.  The block below is the current state, and it is not pretty.  I'm trying to get the stretchable zone in green to show more details that can't be arrayed easily, near as I can tell.  The layout of parts left-to-right is based on repeatable patterns and blocks-within-a-block, as you can probably tell by looking at the details.

I'd very much like to keep this based on the two blocks inside-the-block along with the stretchable, separate section....but I'll admit to burning out a little here overall and could use some further, outside advice from fresh pairs of eyes.  Thanks in advance for any informed replies!

My thinking was CORRECT! 😁 I was trying to do too much at once.  I backed up and started MUCH more simply, and my process works.  My desired result will be a GRIND...but it should work 😎

I will post an update in a few days.  But if anyone still wants to contribute sooner, I'm all ears 😊
