Difficulty with multiple flip options

In compliance with NCS symbols icons, I have created a dynamic block series that has various views available in a single block. Key capabilities:

In standard and boxed view, the symbols offer:

  1. The attributes can be flipped and/or rotated
  2. Boxed symbol offers hatch pattern option
  3. Most offer rotation of the internal symbol (e.g., microphone or speaker)
  4. Some also offer stretch/scale in standard view
  5. Alignment of insertion
  6. Block table option to move settings back to neutral points when going between views

For circle view, the symbols offer:

  1. Movement of attributes since circle is larger and needs to have center reference from corner in standard or boxed view
  2. No alignment of insertion
  3. Some also offer rotation of the internal symbol (e.g., microphone or speaker)
  4. Block table option to move settings back to neutral points when going between views

But I need to add a second flip option (in the example, Circle_Flip_Text), but receive the following problems:

  1. If I go immediately to circle view and flip attributes, the attributes are moved correctly
  2. If I change flip on Standard view then go to Circle, the attributes are moved correctly
  3. However, if I flip the Box view then go to circle, the attribtutes become unstable. Then only way to correct them is to delete the block
  4. I changed the settings to Show properties--but that didn't help
  5. I added the flips to the Block table to return properties to base points, but flip still don't return if I go to Box then Cirle view

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Also, does anybold have any suggestions to eliminating block table as this is incompatible with LT and other CAD programs. The biggest value is ruturning vaules to base point.

Hi,

I am not sure if you use Bactionbarmode command or not. type Bactionbarmode and 0 and you see as picture below.

What I did was I double clicked on Flip1 and selected 2 parameters I circled in the picture so they are added to flip action. Tested and it works.

See attached dwg and check if that is what you wanted.

For deleting the table, I have to give it more thinking. For now I leave it to experts here on board.

Cheers,

Behzad

Thank you. It seems to work well. Will do a lot of testing today.

I was a little confused by the Lookup1 parameter, which does have selections but no associated parameters. Can you please explain.

Please ignore my last comment. I forgot that BACTIONBARMODE brings up the Lookup. I did find that it is necessary to repeat the selection of the linear parameters for all the options, but it does not appear that this is necessary for the Circle object. I also found that it is critical to put the first flip on the Block Table but it appears that the second one is not necessary. I have attached another block with no Circle_Flip_Text parameter in block table to show. Is this correct? Regarding the block table, would a series of lookups handle the block table issue so I could eliminate this? Or should I enter this issue in another request? Again, thanks again.

Hey,

I am glad your first problem is fixed.

For the next, the lookup table, you can have a new topic and close this one by choosing the post that answers your question as a solution. It is up to you.

YOu didn't attach your block by the way in your last quote.

Cheers,

I completely restyled the blocks in order to allow use in Acad LT, BricsCAD, etc.  No block table record required usually, although it does help returning to base when you switch views.

In essence, I decided to use the Move Point function for the circle and aligned all the attributes to the original Standard view.  Then I introduced Text Pos Left and Text Pos Rt to allow the text to work with the larger circle (3/8" vrs 1/4").  It all seems to work well if I add all the objects into the Move Center (point) function.

I have attached a couple of samples
