Column Grid Bubble

We are looking for a column grid bubble dynamic block that will allow us to place horizontal or vertical grid lines while the text in the bubble remains in the upright position.
Another thing we need is to allow for column lines close together without overlapping bubbles. In other words, we need to have the ability to have a diagonal line from the bottom or side of the bubble to the column line which allows us to have all bubbles aligned no matter how close the columns grid lines are.
The attribute in the bubble has to be able to have XX.X to fit within the bubble with the first to X's to be either Alpha or Numeric and the last X to be Numeric only.

Can this be made to be Annotative too?

Anyone have one of these out there yet?

Is this close to what you need?

this is exactly what I need...only I need it in metric. I have tried playing around with the scale but I am only making a bigger mess. Is there a quick way to get it metric

Mr.Moore- Your grid bubble drawing demonstrates some very useful functionality that I'd like to incorporate in a block for our office. Thought I could examine your file and figure out how it was made, then apply those ideas to our own creation. (We don't "do" annotative).  Guess I underestimated the fussiness of creating a dynamic block or I overestimated my reverse-engineering prowess. Anyway, I've been unable to duplicate the grid line "break" (and stretch/offset) feature. Would you name the specific parameters and actions required.. maybe also describe the action selection set requirements?

Thanx in advance.

Is there a way to "link" the attribute tags (grid identifier, one at each end of grid line) so the user need only to edit the value of one tag and the other tag "auto-updates" to the same value?

Hi Sarah, In answer to your question.. yes and no. I figured-out how to make the grid-line break and stretch. But I don't think there IS a way to "link" the attribute tags or to "display" two instances of the same attribute tag value.

The block that Rick Moore posted DOES link the two attributes by using a field in the second one.  If you edit the top one and then regen, the bottom one will update to the same value.

Regen? A blast from the past! Only ever used it when graphics cards weren’t up to rendering curved/splined objects. I reckon I’ll have to add it back to my list of useful commands. Searched this topic and chatted to software support w/no resolution on this. Thanks for setting the record straight! Check's in the mail ;o).

Hi,

Please find the attachment. You need to change the scale on the bottom right corner to scale the block.

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone from this thread can help me. I need to create 1/4" text, MC justified, in 1/4" radius column bubbles. How do I do this. I need step by step instructions. I don't remember going over column grid bubbles at all and this is for my final project due tomorrow. I saved this step for last because I have no idea how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

TIA!

Danielle
