Choosing from menu of visibility states problem (dynamic blocks)

Hello!

I hope this post will find all well:)

I have been trying to create dynamic block with visibility contains trees.

So I can choose from the menu the block of tree i would like to use.

I created 3 visibility states for obviously 3 different blocks of trees.

Let's call them 1,2,3.

My problem is: in the menu, next to "visibility states" button under "make invisible" button, always appears the option 3.

I try to choose the option 2, for example, to make invisible 2 other blocks of trees. But  it's impossible because it always jumps to option 3!

It will be highly appreciated if somebody can help me out!

I wish everybody blessed week,

Best Regards,

Rimma

Welcome to the Forums

The first visibility state you want to show should always be first in the list.

Also post your block so we can have a look at it and point you in the right direction.

You either need to press "set current" or use the drop down arrow in the actual visibility states button to choose which state is active

It sounds like there is a basic misunderstanding of how things work.  You need to make your 3 visibility states.  You can then select which state is active using the pulldown.  With a specific state active you can then choose to make visible or make invisible the necessary linework/objects so that the active visibility state displays the correct items.  This screencast shows the basics:

I tried. Now it's stuck on the first option...

Thank you very much!

Watch the video again (make it fullscreen and pause often) and *post your block file*.

Hi!
Thank you for the reply!
I followed the instruction I have learned on Lynda by Scott Onstott
(Designing Dynamic Blocks).
I think I followed them well...

If you followed the instructions correctly then your block would be working correctly.  Is it working correctly?

If it is not working correctly, then there are three possible causes:

1.  you do not properly understand how it works and have done something incorrectly,

2.  your installation of AutoCAD is not functioning properly

3.  your block file is corrupted.

Most likely is #1.  #3 is easy to check if you *post your block file* as has been requested twice already in this thread.  #2 is a little harder to test and is the least likely.

Hi!

I watched the video.

Thank yo very much!

There is an option to switch between the different options as shown about 2 min of the video Libbya has posted.

I can't switch between the states because when I try to choose the next state it always back to the first one: in your case circle.

So I can't proceed with the different visibility states.

I faced the same problem with Lynda's files which are probably professionally created (So this is not a problem of the block either).

😞

My trees file is attached.

Please post a screencast of doing the same things and it not working.

The reason I asked for you to post a screencast is so that I can determine if there is still something you are doing incorrectly or if your installation of CAD is misbehaving.
